PT Evaluation (First Visit) | I/P*
This is your first visit. This visit type can be covered by insurance if you have met your deductible, or it can be paid for privately. We encourage you to call us before your first appointment to discuss what method of payment will be most affordable for your unique situation. Sometimes, we may recommend private pay options if they beat your insurance price. In some cases, if you will pay significantly less at a different clinic using your insurance, we may recommend other local clinics that would be more affordable for you. Most first visits are about an hour in length and focus on doing a comprehensive evaluation, examination, assessment, and basic treatment of any neuro (nerve) or musculoskeletal (bone, tendon, muscle, ligament) conditions that relate to the challenge you're seeking help for. We also do a system screen to make sure you do not need a referral to another type of specialist for your main complaint. It's not uncommon to feel a little sore after doing some diagnostic tests on this first day, but we will always try our best to let you go in better condition than when you arrived. At the end of this session, we review the cause of the cause, the game plan, and how long you can expect to rehab to reach your goals. Treatments length varies significantly and can last anywhere from 1 visit (an awkward neck kink) to 12 months (an ACL repair). An average rehab timeframe for the most common tissue injuries based on their healing time is 6-8 weeks. For information on what you can prepare for your first PT visit, please read our blog post here for helpful tips including what to wear and how long your PT treatment can last based on the type of tissue that is recovering/healing.
PT Treatment | I/P*
These are your visits of full treatment after you've completed a PT Evaluation. These visits will continue to be paid for by insurance coverage as long as deductible has been met, or privately based on the payment option you selected during the PT Evaluation. These visits are aimed at addressing the main cause of your primary complaints found at your PT Evaluation. We continue to modify, progress, and educate according to how you are doing and any new exam findings noted as we go along. Treatments can range between 30-60 minutes and can comprise of manual therapy (hands-on work and strength, coordination, mobility, and endurance exercises). This will be accompanied with a home exercise program that will never have more than 5 exercises on it. We believe there are always 1-5 exercises at any given time that will give you the most bang for your buck. You will also not be expected to perform what we do in therapy sessions at home. We take a minimalist approach to your care to get you the most gains with the least hassle. All treatment is guided by our Doctors of Physical Therapy and they will select the best interventions to address your goals based on the latest evidence-based and experience-based practices.
